In this application, a pick-and-place solution was tested for a customer using an igus linear robot, a camera, and a conveyor belt. The individual components had to communicate seamlessly to ensure the metal part could be reliably picked up from the conveyor belt and accurately sorted. The integration of the camera for detecting and positioning the metal part, along with the precise control of the linear robot, played a crucial role in ensuring the system’s high reliability and efficiency.

The customer test, which was carried out at the igus branch in India, is intended to serve as an automated, cost-effective packaging process for yogurt cups. The cups are placed in the packaging with the help of a line gantry and a suction gripper. The test was successful and the customer can now put the automated application into operation. Portals are a combination of several linear axes to realize a multi-dimensional movement. For a wide variety of tasks, igus offers gantries as area, line and room gantries. igus gantries contain pre-configured drylin linear modules/axes with NEMA stepper motors as well as all the components required for self-assembly. Application examples for line gantries: Pick and place, labeling applications, sorting systems and identification in microelectronics and medical technology.

During this customer test at our branch in India, a handling process with connectors was to be tested cost-effectively in accordance with customer requirements. The customer application was realised with a linear gantry and a suction gripper.

The task of a pharmacist is to advise their customers regarding their medication. Pharmacists often spend a significant amount of time fetching medications. How convenient would it be if the medications came to the pharmacist instead of the other way around?

The medication dispensing solution by Qx Robotics was precisely designed for this purpose. While there are already several medication dispensing solutions available, Qx Robotics focuses primarily on this sector. These solutions are often expensive and unaffordable for many smaller pharmacies.

The Qx-Dextron, Qx Robotics’ medication dispensing system, is a cost-effective tabletop device that can dispense both medication strips (such as blister packs) and medication boxes. Unlike conventional pharmacy automation solutions that can only dispense boxes, the Qx-Dextron, thanks to its innovative design, can handle more challenging products like medication blister packs. The Qx-Dextron’s actuation system is based on an XYZ portal system by igus.

In this specific customer application, a cost-effective solution for loading and unloading a laser engraving machine was sought and successfully implemented. The igus ReBeL robot takes on the task of picking up the parts to be engraved and precisely placing them into the machine. Subsequently, a linear system equipped with a laser engraving head carries out the engraving process. Once the engraving is complete, the robot removes the processed part from the machine and places it for further processing or packaging.

Thanks to the low cost of the cobot, the investment in this automated solution pays off in a very short time, making it particularly attractive for companies looking to reduce their production costs while simultaneously increasing efficiency.

In this video, we present an advanced solution for downstream sprue separation of clip bearings in injection molding production. The application utilizes a Delta robot system, IRC, rotary conveyor, an igus vacuum gripper with rotation unit, and a Zimmer gripper to optimize the process and increase efficiency.

The setup of the Delta robot and the integration of the IRC are shown, as well as the operation of the rotary conveyor and the camera for precise detection and separation of sprues. The igus vacuum gripper with rotation unit is demonstrated in action, handling the clip bearings safely and efficiently. The Zimmer gripper complements the process with its precise gripping technique. The entire system operates smoothly and efficiently thanks to reliable power and data transmission.

The benefits of this solution include increased production speed, reduced scrap, and improved workplace safety. Additionally, a low footprint is ensured, facilitating integration into various production environments.
