Efficient Sorting of Plastic Components with Room Gantry and Dual Grippers

In this application, small plastic components in two variations were sorted into trays using an igus room gantry with dimensions 800x800x500 mm and a repeat accuracy of 0.8 mm. To handle the different component sizes, the gantry was equipped with two electric grippers. For smaller components, a 2-finger parallel gripper with a maximum gripping force of 40 N ensured precise handling. Larger components were managed by a stronger electric gripper with a gripping force of 200 N, ensuring secure and reliable handling. This versatile setup demonstrates how automation can efficiently address diverse sorting challenges while maintaining high precision.
